Little Big Town

Monday Album

Artist: Little Big Town

Album: The Road To Here

Year Released: 2005

Track-By-Track

Good As Gone

The harmonies these guys get into are often tight, making the song drive forward like a runaway train. When it abruptly cuts to a single voice, it’s on a whole new level. Great rhythm, hard beat, good song

Boondocks

All the hicks in the house, it’s time to show pride in your roots! This is more like two songs smashed together, which is fun. The vocal stacking at the end is super catchy.

Bones

The verses of this track are reminiscent of the old west and an impending duel. The choruses are a little more rock. A good song, but probably sounded better in theory than actuality

Bring It On Home

Ah, yes. What country album is complete without a love ballad? The feeling, the desperation. It’s everything we love about country. Great harmonies that make the song full and nicely rounded.

Wounded

And now the other side of country. The you-done-gone-did-me-wrong song. A personal favorite on this album because of the catchy melody and lyrics.

A Little More You

Ballad: the sequel. Not as chill as a typical ballad, but that’s a good thing. Perfect for dancing with your S/O.

Live With Lonesome

Could this song get any more country? Trains, heartbreak, and wallowing. Trifecta.

Mean Streak

Enter the why-are-you-like-this track. Another one that’s good, but the execution could have used a bit of tweaking.

Looking For A Reason

Ooh... love how this one starts. And it keeps building through to the chorus. Nice! This could easily work in a girl punk band, but it somehow works with twang.

Lost

And we’re back to a chill. To be perfectly honest, my mind started to wander during this. It’s not attention-grabbing in any way. Melody is so-so, lyrics are forgettable. Might get better after a few times through it.

Welcome To The Family

Looking for a laugh? This is your new go-to. Trust me.

Fine With Me

Starts out all right, gets better at the chorus. Not super catchy, but worth a listen.

Stay

Meh. If you’re into the sappy songs, you’ll love it. Personally, it makes me a bit nauseated.

Recommended?

For the most part, it’s a good album. Not a big fan of some of the songs, but nobody likes every song from every album.
